Dear Colleagues,
I am seeking your help recruiting for this year's Dr. Shawn Long Organizational Science Institute (OSI). The mission of OSI (Formerly OSSI) is to diversify the pipeline for graduate education. The promotional flyer is linked here.
OSI targets underrepresented racial/ethnic minority (i.e., African-American, Hispanic, and Native American) undergraduates who are interested in pursuing graduate school in topics related to organizations. Our program primarily seeks out students with an interest in management, I/O psychology, organizational sociology, and organizational communication (although we are open to other disciplines that align with an interest in organizational phenomena).
· OSI pairs students with faculty and graduate student mentors for an intensive multi-day program focused on professionalization, career development, and developing a competitive grad school application
· Participants also receive free GRE test preparation from Princeton Review
· The institute provides housing and food and reimburses travel costs for all attendees
You can help the recruitment effort by (1) forwarding this email to specific students (ideally juniors or seniors) you know who are interested in organizations and graduate study and/or (2) sending this information to other faculty who may be able to promote OSI to specific students.
Additional information can be found at http://osinstitute.charlotte.edu.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your assistance with this program.
