    Director of the School of Business (P00001237)

     

    The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UA Little Rock) invites applications for the position of Director of the School of Business (P00001237). Reporting to the Dean of the College of Business, Health, and Human Services, the Director will work cooperatively with the faculty and department chairs to develop and implement the School's strategic plans and other institutional goals. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

     

    The successful Director candidate will be expected to provide leadership in all aspects of the School's operation, including: advance the School's commitment to excellence in teaching, both in person and online; oversee the AACSB accreditation process; support the mission, values and vision of the institution; lead initiatives to recruit students as well as increase enrollment and retention; take advantage of the School's location in the capital city; build partnerships with the community; raise the state, regional and national profile of the School and its programs; represent the School before the university community, alumni, and other outside entities; value and manage interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary endeavors; and enhance the sense of community among faculty, students, administrators, and staff.

     

    The College of Business, Health, and Human Services (https://ualr.edu/cbhhs/) includes the School of Business, the School of Counseling, Human Performance and Rehabilitation, the School of Criminal Justice, the School of Nursing, and the School of Social Work. The Director of the School of Business (https://ualr.edu/business/) will work collaboratively with Directors of the other Schools to achieve the College and University strategic goals.

     

    UA Little Rock, classified as a "High Research" institution by the Carnegie Foundation, is Arkansas's premier metropolitan university and enrolls nearly 9,000 full- and part-time students.     Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a terminal degree in a discipline within the School of Business from an AACSB-accredited institution; minimum of ten years of higher education teaching experience; academic credentials appropriate for the rank of associate professor or professor; experience working with AACSB accreditation; a record of successful leadership, administrative, or management experience in higher education at the department chair or equivalent or higher; excellent communication skills.

     

    Preferred Qualifications: dedicated commitment to fostering an inclusive working and learning environment; demonstrated ability to engage with the business community; experience with leading student recruitment and retention initiatives; experience with resource management including budgets and technology; experience managing and working on a team.
