    Dear colleagues,

Are you currently working on the topic of Innovation Theater?

Cristian Granados and I are preparing a symposium proposal on Innovation Theater for the 84th annual meeting of the Academy of Management to be held in Chicago on 9–13 August 2024. We define innovation theater as the use of superficial and trendy activities that have no impact on the innovation process, resulting in futile attempts at innovation. It is our aim to bring together a set of papers that help to move the research field forward by further refining the relationships articulated in the conceptual model of innovation theater (Granados et al., 2023). We seek either, empirical or conceptual papers.

If you are interested in taking part of this symposium, we would love to hear from you. Please, contact me directly, providing a tentative title and a short description of your paper, If you have work in progress that falls within this scope and if you are interested in participating. Also, if you are not sure about whether your paper would fit, don't hesitate to reach out for some informal feedback.

You can find the conceptual article here: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.technovation.2023.102880

We look forward to receiving your contributions to our symposium.

    All the best,

    Yarid and Cris
