Call for Submissions: Equitable Opportunity Conference
We are pleased to announce the inaugural Equitable Opportunity Conference to be held on June 6-7, 2024, at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. This recurring conference will bring together academics and practitioners for a cross-disciplinary exchange of research and ideas related to equity and opportunity in various contexts (e.g., business, education, energy, health). This year's conference focuses specifically on how organizations shape socioeconomic opportunities in ways that are more or less consistent with prevailing notions of fairness and justice.
The conference aims to:
- Showcase Innovative Research: Present cutting-edge academic research that addresses equity issues within the specified fields, highlighting novel methodologies, findings, and implications for policy and practice.
- Facilitate Knowledge Exchange: Encourage the exchange of ideas and best practices among different stakeholders, including researchers and practitioners, to bridge the gap between theory and application.
- Enhance Collaboration: Create opportunities for networking and collaboration among participants from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, fostering partnerships that can lead to joint research initiatives, policy development, and practical implementations.
- Inform Policy and Practice: Provide a platform for discussions on how research findings can inform policy-making and practice in a way that promotes equity and opportunity.
- Promote Multidisciplinary Approaches: Encourage a multidisciplinary perspective on equity, recognizing that solutions to equity and opportunity issues are often complex and require insights from multiple disciplines.
