The PhD program in the management department at Culverhouse College of Business of The University of Alabama invites applications for our next intake in Fall 2024. Our goal is to train outstanding researchers and inspiring teachers. To that end, our PhD program offers full funding (including stipend, tuition, and benefits) for four years. We also provide a generous research budget that students can use for their research and professional development such as traveling to conferences. Our program takes pride in close, intimate interactions between faculty and students and among student cohorts, as well as a collegial and supportive environment that is conducive to collaboration and student success.
The Department of Management has many world-class faculty with research and teaching interests that span different areas of management including strategic management and entrepreneurship, organizational behavior and human resources, international business and cross-cultural management. Our faculty have published in top journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of International Business Studies, and Journal of World Business, among others. They serve as editors, associate editors, and editorial board members of leading journals in the field, and as leaders of the top professional academic associations.
