Dear scholars,
We are organizing a presenter symposium entitled "Employees' Proactive Behavior with AI" for the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, and we warmly invite submissions for inclusion.
This symposium aims to shift the perspective from viewing employees as passive recipients to proactive adopters of AI at work. We will explore how proactive behaviors (such as resource-seeking behaviors, job crafting, career self-management, self-directed learning, voice and broader P-E fit… ) take on new forms when directed toward or enabled by AI systems. We are also interested in how individual and contextual factors drive such behaviors and how these behaviors influence key work outcomes. We welcome theoretical, empirical, and methodological contributions that enrich our understanding of the topic.
If you are interested in participating, please submit
a brief summary of your paper (approximately one page) by
November 28th. Please send your submissions and/or inquiries to
tor.kemps@edu.vlerick.com and
z.zhao3@uva.nl.
We look forward to receiving your submissions and thank you for considering this opportunity!
