Excited to share that after a very engaging session at AOM 2025 this July in Copenhagen, we are organizing a follow-up symposium on managerial challenges with hybrid work for submission to the 86th annual meeting of the Academy of Management conference in Philadelphia, July 31-August 5 2026! #AOM2026
Last year's session sparked vibrant discussion and ongoing collaboration across institutions and industries. The level of interest and engagement underscored just how central hybrid work remains to questions of leadership as well as the related topics of organizational culture, technology adoption, and team dynamics, among others. Many participants stayed afterwards and expressed an interest in coming together at the upcoming AOM.
We are now inviting paper abstracts that address themes related to managerial challenges in the context of hybrid work, including (but not limited to):
• New models of hybrid and distributed collaboration
• Employee experience, belonging, and well-being in hybrid environments
• Organizational design, culture, and managerial practices in hybrid work
• Technology, AI, and tools that facilitate the work of hybrid teams
• Measurement, performance, and productivity in hybrid contexts
• Global teams and cross-cultural considerations in hybrid environments
If you are in this space, we would love to hear from you.
If you are doing research in this field and interested in joining our symposium submission, we would love to hear from you. We welcome both empirical and conceptual work, as well as research-in-progress that will benefit from group dialogue. Please send us a tentative title and a brief abstract (up to 250 words) to jeisenberg@pace.edu by November 27, 2025, so that we can see whether your project could fit with the papers we already have. We aim to finalize the selection of abstracts by December, 5, 2025. Extended abstracts are due by December 17, 2025.
