    Dear colleagues,

I am deeply saddened to share the news that Ruth Kanfer passed away peacefully earlier this week.   Ruth, a Psychology Professor at Georgia Tech, has made significant contributions to our field in the areas of work motivation, adult learning, and job search.  She is perhaps best known for her seminal reviews of the complex and vast work motivation literature (Kanfer, 1990; Kanfer et al., 2017), as well as her Resource Allocation Model (Kanfer & Ackerman, 1989).  Ruth has earned major research and career awards and recognitions from both SIOP and AOM.  She is survived by her husband (psychologist Phil Ackerman), a daughter and a granddaughter.

Our field has lost a giant -- Ruth will be sorely missed by all who knew her, and will be remembered by her influential scientific contributions.
