Hello everyone,
I'm delighted to share a call for paper for a new Article Collection, "Thriving Under Disruption: Psychological Adaptation in the Age of Generative AI," published in the Australian Journal of Psychology (Taylor & Francis, open access). This Collection is being co-led with my fellow Guest Editors, Dr. Saleh Bajaba and Dr. Murad Ali. Together, we invite submissions that explore how individuals and organizations adapt psychologically to the disruptions and opportunities brought about by Generative AI.
About the Collection:
The rapid adoption of generative AI and autonomous AI agents is reshaping the workplace, automating complex tasks, and fundamentally altering how work is structured and experienced. While these technologies bring innovation, they also introduce significant psychological strain: uncertainty, skill obsolescence, and the demands of human-AI collaboration. This Collection seeks research on adaptive psychological capacities such as resilience (recovering from disruption), robustness (withstanding change), and antifragility (growing stronger through adversity). We aim to advance understanding of how individuals, teams, and organizations can not only withstand disruption but also transform and thrive in the age of AI.
Relevant topics include, but not limited to, stress, coping, identity, performance, well-being, moderators and mediators of adaptation, cross-environment comparisons (physical, hybrid, virtual), and interventions ranging from leadership practices to training programs. Contributions across diverse methodologies are encouraged, from quantitative and qualitative studies to mixed-methods and experimental interventions.
Submission Deadline: April 27, 2026
