    About the Incubator

Are you already thinking ahead to your submission for the Academy of Management conference in Seattle in 2027? With the submission deadline in January 2027, now is the ideal time to develop and refine your research ideas.

Constructive feedback from peers and experienced scholars is essential for advancing academic work, especially in the early stages of a project. This developmental Incubator, organized by the Global Committee of the Organizational Behavior Division, offers a supportive environment to help you shape your ideas well in advance of submission. The session also provides an opportunity to connect with an international community of scholars.

This Incubator is designed primarily for doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-stage scholars, particularly those based outside North America and/or working in English as a second language. We will accept up to 25 submissions, which will be discussed in small breakout groups (3โ€“5 participants) with one or more experienced mentors.

    What's New This Year

To encourage participation at earlier stages of the research process, we invite extended abstracts instead of full papers.

Submissions should outline your core research idea, including:

    • Research question and motivation
    • Expected contribution
    • Theoretical framing
    • Proposed methodology (if applicable)
    • Optional: preliminary findings and insights (including tables or figures)

This format is intended to support work in progress, including early-stage ideas that would benefit from developmental feedback.

    Interested? Here's How to Proceed

Please submit the following by Sunday, May 10th, 12:00 CET (UTC+2):

    1. An extended abstract (max. 1,000โ€“1,500 words) on any OB-related topic
    2. A clear indication of specific questions or areas where you seek feedback (e.g., theory development, positioning, methods, writing)
    3. A brief bio (max. 100 words) including name, affiliation, current position, and research interests
