Year-round programming · Making Connections Committee
The Making Connections Committee runs year-round programs that help members feel at home in the OB community, welcome newcomers, and connect scholars across the field. Explore the current programs below.
These programs run throughout the calendar year, alongside the committee's work at the AOM Annual Meeting. Most are open to the whole OB community; some are tailored to a particular stage or audience. Recordings are shared where a session has already been held.
A virtual PDW for pre-dissertation doctoral students, helping mid-program PhD students begin establishing themselves as independent scholars, with sessions tailored to three global time zones.
An off-cycle PDW series where we interview leading scholars on their experiences sharing research with public audiences through books, columns, podcasts, and other media.
A live, behind-the-scenes conversation between the Making Connections Committee and the Executive Committee on how the Division works and how members can help shape its future.
A peer welcome program for new OB Division members, matching newcomers with an existing member to meet ahead of the annual meeting and get guidance on navigating the conference.
