Faculty Position in Organizational Behavior and Leadership
ESADE Business School, Department of People Management and Organization
ESADE Business School is seeking to appoint a faculty member at the rank of tenured Associate Professor in the fields of Organizational Behavior and Leadership (applications for positions at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor or Full Professor will also be considered).
ESADE offers a rigorous and international academic environment for research. The school is home to faculty and students from all around the globe and is one of the leading business schools in international rankings (Financial Times, Business Week, The Economist). ESADE comprises a business school and a law school spread across three campuses: Barcelona, Sant Cugat del Vallès near Barcelona and Madrid. The school's official mission is "to educate highly-professional individuals aware of their responsibilities as national and global citizens, sensitive to issues of solidarity and social justice and keen to engage in collective projects."
ESADE is a member of Ramon Llull University and runs a wide range of business courses of Business Administration and Law at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. ESADE has co-operation agreements with many top universities around the globe.
The candidate must have a completed a Ph.D. in a field relevant to the position (e.g., Organizational Behavior, Psychology, General Management or Sociology).
The candidate will be expected to complement and contribute to the Department's research activities, show clear evidence of high-quality, impactful research, and/or a demonstrable potential and motivation to publish in leading refereed academic journals relevant to the field of Organizational Behavior. In addition, tenured faculty are also encouraged to disseminate their work so that it impacts upon public policy debates and the business community world-wide. They may also provide research leadership by bidding for and raising external funds (public or private) for research and by leading research institutes, centres or programmes.
Excellent teaching skills are expected, since the candidate will be in charge of mandatory courses in Organizational Behavior and Leadership, as well as elective courses in his/her field, in our Master of Science, MBA, and Executive Education programs. She/he should also be able to work alongside PhD students and willing to supervise MSc theses.
All 'tenure-track and 'tenured' faculty are expected to play a full part in the life of the School, and contribute to building and sustaining a sense of community as well as a high-quality work environment. Faculty are expected to foster a sense of community within the subject area and the School in line with the School's values.
The Department of People Management and Organization at ESADE is a growing, dynamic academic group, including professors teaching and doing research in Organizational Behavior, Organizational Theory and Development, and Human Resource Management. The Department has close links with European and US academic institutions and its members participate in international research projects.
The compensation, research support and teaching requirements that accompany this position are competitive. Moreover, assistance will be given towards the cost of relocation. Speaking Spanish or Catalan is not a requirement, though support in learning languages can be provided if desired.
