    Assistant or Associate Professor in Human Resource Management

    The Department of Organisation & Personnel Management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) invites applications for a faculty position in the field of Human Resource Management. The position will be appointed at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on the candidate's level of experience and research track record. Starting date is 1 September 2018. 

    The Department of Organisation & Personnel Management consists of a group of highly international faculty, educated at renowned institutions in Europe, the USA, and Asia. Some of its distinctive research areas in OB and HR include teams, leadership development, diversity management, strategic HRM, performance management, HR leadership, and change management. The department's research is published in top international OB and HR journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Annals, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Personnel Psychology, and Human Resource Management Review. The department has a strong PhD programme, and an established network of international co-operation, including research visits to leading international schools and the New Directions in Leadership Research (NDLR) conference, convened by RSM and other leading business schools.

    Job description and qualifications

    Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate outstanding achievements in both research and teaching in the field of Human Resource Management (HRM). With a PhD in a related discipline (e.g. HRM, OB), candidates should be able to demonstrate high quality research. At Assistant Professor level, which is a tenure track position, this includes published papers and/or high quality papers in the pipeline for top management journals (see the ERIM journal list). At Associate Professor level, which is a tenured position, candidates are expected to have an established track record of high quality publications (at A level, which is designated as P* on the ERIM journal list). Candidates for both levels should have experience of teaching HRM at bachelors, masters, and ideally MBA and executive level.

    The new professor is expected to make significant contributions to RSM's HRM-related research portfolio. They will also be involved in the mentoring and development of junior faculty and PhD students to deliver high quality HRM-related research and in the redevelopment of the Erasmus Centre for Human Resource Excellence to strengthen RSM's ties with HR professionals and managers.

    Employment Conditions

    The conditions of employment comply with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU). Salary is subject to training and experience.

    The compensation package is competitive relative to European salaries and includes several secondary benefits, which include a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent, and a generous number of vacation days.

    Favourable tax agreements may apply to non-Dutch applicants.
