Applications are invited for the post of College Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Organisational Behaviour in the Management Subject Area of UCD College of Business. One temporary 5 year appointment or one permanent appointment may be offered following interviews.

The Management Subject Area at UCD is the largest of the subject areas in the College of Business. The principal areas of academic specialty lie in the core business areas of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, International Business, Organisational Behaviour, Strategy, Supply Chain Management, and Technology Management.

About the position:
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of research and teaching in Organisational Behaviour and will contribute to the following areas:
Research: The Management Subject Area places a strong emphasis on research leading to publication in highly esteemed, international, peer-reviewed academic journals and leading to debate in the academic and public space. The candidate should have established a track record in conducting research in Organizational Behaviour leading to publications in highly esteemed, international, peer-evaluated journals. Inter-disciplinary research is also welcome.
Teaching and Learning: The Management Subject Area makes a significant contribution to the College's undergraduate and postgraduate teaching including in particular our Undergraduate programmes, our wide range of specialist masters programmes, the MBA, Executive Education, and the PhD programmes. The successful candidate should have experience and/or interest in teaching in the undergraduate and/or post- graduate programmes of the school. The candidate should also be willing to supervise Master's students or other levels of students according to need. Evidence of high quality teaching in terms of student impact and curriculum development should be provided as part of the application.
Strategic Development & the School: In conjunction with the College Principal and Dean of the College of Business, Associate Deans & the Subject Area Head, appointees will contribute to the strategic development of the School - including the formulation, implementation and execution of policies to develop the School's academic and strategic potential.
Administration: S/he will also assume appropriate administrative and managerial duties normally expected of colleagues at Lecturer/ Assistant Professor level. Experienced candidates are expected to undertake academic administrative tasks such as programme coordination.
95 Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar) Salary Scale: €52,325 - €82,267 per annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with Department of Finance guidelines.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
· Undertake and publish high quality research in high-impact outlets that advances scholarship within Organisational Behaviour and cognate areas.
· Actively contribute to the graduate and undergraduate teaching programmes as directed by the Head of School or her/his nominee. Inter alia, this will involve module design and delivery, examination and assessment, quality assurance and enhancement, and associated administrative duties. In particular, the candidate should have experience and/or interest in teaching core Organisational Behaviour topics (motivation, job design, decision-making, groups, commitment etc.). Interest and capability in teaching topics around Work Teams and/or Coaching in the undergraduate and MBA programmes are particularly welcome.
· Provide students with feedback in relation to examination and continuous assessment performance, and evaluate performance in the professional and practical elements of the course.
· Supervise masters and doctoral research, where required.
· Attend and maintain active membership on Subject Area/School/University committees/boards.
· Make a significant contribution to the general administration and development of the Subject Area and the School.
· Contribute to the academic life of the School and the University.
· Contribute to the wider academic and business community.
· Actively contribute to meetings, courses and conferences for professionals and academics in their field of expertise.
· Undertake such other appropriate duties as directed by the Head of School or her/his nominee in line with the contract of employment.
Selection Criteria
Selection criteria outline the qualifications, skills, knowledge and/or experience that the successful candidate would need to demonstrate for successful discharge of the responsibilities of the post. Applications will be assessed based on how well candidates satisfy these criteria.
Mandatory
Candidates should have:
A PhD in Organisational Behaviour or a closely related area from an AACSB/EQUIS/AMBA accredited institution or equivalent.
An established and sustained track record of publication in highly esteemed, international, peer-reviewed journals in the field of Organisational Behaviour.
An established and sustained track record of presentation at highly esteemed, international, peer-reviewed professional conferences in the field.
Demonstration of high quality teaching in Organisational Behaviour, Work Teams and/or Coaching at graduate and undergraduate levels.
A capacity and enthusiasm for working in an interdisciplinary and collegial way within the School and wider academic community.
An ability to design, deliver and assess a range of modules in Organizational Behaviour, Work Teams and/or Coaching.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable
Good international research network and international academic experience.
A demonstrable track record in developing successful research funding applications.
Administrative experience commensurate with managing a portfolio of teaching and research
