    Dear Colleagues,

I am conducting research on the implications of digital technologies for organizations. Part of this research focuses on the threat perceived by employees in terms of career progression or competence/profession obsolescence.

So far I could just find some qualitative studies on threat of professional obsolescence (see reference below). I am looking for similar/relevant constructs and validated scales, and I would really appreciate/be grateful for any inputs in this respect.

Pazy, A. (1996). Concept and career-stage differentiation in obsolescence research. Journal of Organizational Behavior, 59-78.

Pazy, A. (1994). Cognitive schemata of professional obsolescence. Human Relations, 47(10), 1167-1199.

    Thanks in advance

    Kind Regards

    Dear Carmine,

I would also be very interested to know what you find out in relation to digital technologies and implications for career progression, professional obsolecence and related areas.

You might find the following article on job insecurity worth a look:

Roskies, E., & Louis‐Guerin, C. (1990). Job insecurity in managers: Antecedents and consequences. Journal of organizational behavior, 11(5), 345-359

I look forwadr to hearing if you find out anything, especially relating to quantitative  measures. Thank you.

    Best wishes,

    Caroline
