Hello to teachers of leadership:
David Day and I are happy to announce that the 3rd Edition of our edited book "The Nature of Leadership" has just been released. This thoroughly revised edition has been designed for teaching an upper-level bachelor or a Master's course on leadership.
We have updated the contents of the book and include new topics like power and leadership, social cognition and leadership, entrepreneurial leadership, as well as corporate social responsibility and leadership, among other topics. It is not a slap-bang edited book but rather one that has been carefully planned to ensure that the chapters fit seamlessly and cover the core areas of leadership. It includes the major schools of leadership, current topics in leadership, as well as methodological and philosophical issues.
Each chapter begins with a "day in the life of a leader," a mini-case, which brings to light the major themes that will be covered. There are discussion questions for each case, and in addition to a very accessible materials in the chapter, we also include suggested TED-type talks (i.e., short talks) that can be shown in class and stimulate discussion, additional cases, and readings. Moreover, each chapter has at least one table and one figure, which we make available on line so that instructors can download them and incorporate them into teaching slides. See:
