    Western Illinois University, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, serves approximately 12,200 students at its traditional, residential four-year campus in Macomb, IL and its metropolitan, non-residential campus in Moline, IL.     APPOINTMENT: 1/16/2018

    RESPONSIBILITIES: Full-time, tenure track faculty appointment.  Teach six or seven sections per year in one primary area and one support area identified below.   Perform research activities commensurate with AACSB "Scholarly Academic" qualification.  Service activities are expected, including interactions with external business constituencies.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. or D.B.A. from an AACSB accredited business school or equivalent degree from a Carnegie Research University (RU/H or RU/VH);

    • Demonstrated ability to teach Principles of Management; Business Policy/Strategy, and in two of the following areas courses:
      • Organizational Behavior
      • Organization Theory
      • International Management
      • Human Resource Management

     

    • Research, teaching, and service record commensurate with AACSB Scholarly Academic Qualification.
    • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate course content and complex research ideas.
    • Demonstrated record of student interaction through student clubs, field trips, or related engagement activities.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Demonstrated ability to design and teach online courses through one or more formats.
    2. Demonstrated ability to build academic programs and curriculum.
    3. Demonstrated ability to engage in discipline based fundraising activities.
    4. Willingness to teach at Macomb and Quad Cities campuses as needed.

     

    THE DEPARTMENT and COLLEGE: The Department of Management and Marketing offer B.B. degrees in Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Supply Chain Managementat both the Macomb and Quad Cities locations.  The College of Business and Technology (CBT) has over 2,100 undergraduate majors, 275 graduate students, and 126 full-time faculty.  It is accredited by AACSB International at the undergraduate and graduate levels. 

     

    THE UNIVERSITY: Recognized as a "Best Midwestern College" by the Princeton Review and one of 39 public universities ranked a top tier "Best Midwestern University" by U.S.News & World Report, Western Illinois University (WIU) serves approximately 12,200 students in the heart of the Midwest through its traditional residential campus in Macomb and its metropolitan, non-residential location in Moline, Illinois.

    The WIU-Macomb and WIU-Quad Cities campuses are comprised of accomplished faculty, state-of-the-art technology and facilities, and a wide range of academic and extracurricular opportunities. Western is a comprehensive university offering 65 undergraduate and 37 graduate degree programs, including a doctorate in education. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 15:1, the University's 612 full-time faculty members teach 93.5 percent of all undergraduate and graduate courses, in addition to 10 pre-professional degree programs and 19 certificate programs.

    WIU-Macomb, IL (Student Population: 10,003): A traditional, residential four-year campus with select graduate programs, WIU-Macomb is located in the heart of west central Illinois in Macomb (population 20,000). Macomb is an Amtrak city with twice-daily service to Chicago. Macomb is located approximately 75 miles from the Quad Cities International Airport (Moline, IL) and 70 miles from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport (Peoria, IL).

    WIU-Quad Cities (Student Population: 1,204): The only public university in the Quad Cities area, WIU-QC offers select undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education, at its metropolitan, non-residential campuses in Moline, IL (population 44,000). The Quad Cities (population 376,000) rests on the banks of the Mississippi River and is comprised of Moline and Rock Island in western Illinois and Davenport and Bettendorf in eastern Iowa. Moline, Illinois is home to the Quad Cities International Airport.
