    Dear Colleagues,

I am looking for teaching resources for helping students to improve their presentation skills. It would be very helpful to find some short videos that demonstrate exceptional, professional business presentations. I'd also appreciate any videos about presenting that you have found useful (tips on using power point, etc), class exercises, or readings.

    Thanks in advance,
    Lisa

Gallo's books on presentation skills are worth a look. The two that seem to have gotten the most attention are:

    ·  Talk Like TED: The 9 Public-Speaking Secrets of the World's Top Minds

    ·  The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs: How to Be Insanely Great in Front of Any Audience (Business Skills and Development)

    Hi Lisa,

I think this TED Talk by Simon Sinek has a short, powerful, and simple message about how to communicate ideas. He talks about it in the context of leadership, but I think the same principles can apply to presentations.

    Good luck!
    John

    Hi Lisa,

I highly recommend the book, "Better Presentations: A Guide for Scholars, Researchers, and Wonks," by Jonathan Schwabish, published this year.
