The Ohio University Department of Management in the College of Business invites applications for one or more tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professors of Human Resource Management (HRM). Appointment begins August 2018. Applicants must have earned a doctorate, terminal, or equivalent degree in HRM, Management (with emphasis in HRM or a related subject), or related area from an AACSB or equivalently accredited institution by the start date. Applicants can be ABD at the time of application with an expected completion date prior to the August 2018 start date.
The ideal candidate would be a student-centered, research-active, innovative faculty member with the ability to teach undergraduate courses (e.g., Introduction to HRM, Employee Relations, Talent Management, Organizational Behavior, Leadership), as well as graduate level HRM courses in one or more of our MBA programs. Preferred qualifications include experience teaching graduate students as well as on-line or blended courses, prior experience in an HRM role, and a background in HR Information Systems and Analytics. Applicants must have a demonstrated record of teaching excellence in the designated areas and an active research agenda underway.
Ohio University's College of Business is AACSB accredited and offers a BBA with majors and certificate programs that include Management and Strategic Leadership, International Business, Data Analytics, and Entrepreneurship. We also have a portfolio of full-time, professional, and online graduate programs. The teaching load for tenure track faculty members is 5 courses per year, however, for new PhDs the teaching load can be reduced to 4 courses for the first two years. The typical class size is 40 students.
