    Assistant Professor of Strategy/Strategic Entrepreneurship


    The Department of Management at Clemson University invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in Strategy/Strategic Entrepreneurship to begin in Spring/Fall 2018. Consistent with Clemson University's goal of Top 20 public university status, we seek candidates with a record of high quality research, or who demonstrate an emerging stream of research that holds promise for publication in leading academic journals. Consequently, the ideal candidate has a strong commitment to publishing high quality research that will impact the field, and will interact effectively with peers in enhancing the intellectual climate of the Department. We welcome candidates who are open to using a broad range of methodologies. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent communication skills, and be able to teach at a level consistent with Clemson's high standards. Compensation will be competitive.

    ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Management is a comprehensive academic unit within the College of Business. The Department has a team of 35 diverse full-time faculty members, and offers an undergraduate degree, a Master of Science degree in management, and a Ph.D. in management. Management faculty members also teach in the College's M.B.A. program. Management faculty have recently published in top-tier journals including AMJ, AMR, ASQ, OS, SMJ, MS, JAP, JOM, JBV, JMS, as well as well as other top-tier journals such as MIS, ISR, DSJ, EJOR, OBHDP, among others.     Qualifications

    Candidates for this tenure-track position must have a Ph.D. from an AACSB-accredited program, or reasonably anticipate completion of such by August 2018.

    For hiring at the rank of Assistant Professor, we are seeking an individual with a PhD with concentrated studies in Human Resources Management or Organizational Behaviour, preferably with expertise or demonstrated research capability in data analytics and/or leadership. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to teaching and supervision in our PhD program and to teaching in our undergraduate, MBA, and executive development programs, including EMBA.  Courses that the successful candidate will be expected to teach include a subset of the following: organizational behaviour, human resources management, management skills development, negotiation, leadership, HR analytics, and Strategic Human Resources Planning.

     

    If hiring at the rank of Associate Professor, we are seeking an individual with a strong program of research in Strategic/Macro Human Resources Management, Organizational Theory, or Meso Organizational Behaviour.  Candidates for this position should possess a PhD in a relevant discipline.  The successful candidate is expected to contribute to teaching and supervision in our PhD program and to teaching in our undergraduate, MBA, and executive development programs, including EMBA.  Courses that the successful candidate will be expected to teach include a subset of the following:  organizational behaviour, human resources management, management skills development, negotiation, leadership, HR analytics, and Strategic Human Resources Planning.

     

    DeGroote operates at two campuses, the McMaster University main campus in Hamilton, Ontario and a new state-of-the-art facility in nearby Burlington, Ontario, housing the MBA and executive programs. The successful candidate is expected to be active at both locations.
