    PUBLISHING AT THE RESEARCH-PRACTICE INTERFACE:
EDITORS AND SCHOLARS SHARE TIPS FOR REAL WORLD IMPACT
2017 AOM Professional Development Workshop (PDW)
    Saturday, Aug 5th, 11:30AM-1:30PM
    Hilton Atlanta, Galleria 3

    • Do you want your research to have broader impact?
    • Would you like a broader audience of leaders and managers to access your findings?
    • Are you interested in publishing in HBR, People + Strategy, and other bridging journals?

Many scholars hope that their research studies and results will have significant implications and that these implications will be published. Yes these important insights are not necessarily read by leaders, managers, and other professionals if only published in academic journals. This PDW offers insights on how to design and publish research that is meaningful beyond the Academy. Senior editors representing bridging journals and high-impact scholars will share insights on how to publish in venues that reach both academics and practitioners.

This PDW focuses on how researchers can have greater impact by thinking about real-world implications early in the project development process and by publishing in journals that are widely circulated. Researchers and editors will lead a highly interactive and participative session on this topic which will include panelist presentations, audience dialogue, and roundtable discussions.

    Our panelists include:

    Ethan Bernstein, Harvard University
    Eben Harrell, Harvard Business Review
    Margaret Luciano, Arizona State University
    John Mathieu, University of Connecticut
    Anna Travis, New York University

No pre-registration is required for this PDW. We hope to see you there!
Brad Winn, Utah State University (brad.winn@usu.edu), Kristie Rogers, Marquette University (kristie.rogers@marquette.edu) and Margaret Luciano, Arizona State University (Margaret.luciano@asu.edu)
