    Greetings LMX Scholars:

Terri Scandura and I would like to invite you to the LMX Incubator Symposium at AOM in Atlanta (submission #17643) on Monday, Aug 7 2017 3:00PM - 4:30PM at Hilton Atlanta in Galleria 8.

This Symposium features leading LMX scholars with some of their latest ideas.  It also provides interaction time in small discussion groups, where you can ask questions about their research and your own.

    ·         Terri Scandura will open the session with an introduction to LMX in general, including concept/theory and measurement as well as problems and potentials for LMX research.

    ·         Ray Sparrowe suggests a provocative idea: grounding LMX not in Blau (1964) but rather evolutionary psychology.

    ·         Bob Liden dives into the notion that LMX quality (hi, medium, low) are not all of the same type.

    ·         Jennifer Nahrgang breaks open LMX Differentiation, suggesting typical patterns of differentiation, which have different antecedents and outcomes.

    ·         Thomas Rockstuhl hypothesizes that the norm of reciprocity, upon which LMX-outcome relationships are theoretically driven, is declining, therefore reducing the importance of LMX in the workplace.

    ·         Finally, Jeremy Meuser discusses how LMX has been integrated with other leadership theories.

The symposium will then transition to 6 discussion breakout tables lead by the above scholars.  At these tables, you are invited to bring your own questions about your research, or the topics just presented.  These breakout tables should provide an opportunity for a greater number of questions to be answered and the chance for collaborator relationships to develop.
