  • 1.  good cases about digital leadership?

    Posted 05-25-2017 09:17

    Dear OB Listserve Members

I am putting together a course on leadership in the digital age and digital space. Specifically, I am looking at challenges that leaders face in the digital age and capabilities that are needed for leaders in this space.

If you have any good exercises or cases in this domain that you'd be willing to share, I'd be greatly appreciative.

I will summarize what I receive and send it back around the Listserve.

    Many thanks in advance!

    Regards, Jennifer

    Hi, Jennifer.

While I was on the faculty at IMD, I presented a session to a group of CIOs on leading in the digital age (in particular, leading millennials), and from that I developed this RSA-style video:  http://imd.kuluvalley.com/view/10Ra4MIgo5N.  It's neither an exercise nor case, but has been used as a lead-in to discussion on this topic.  Hope that helps.

    Best,

    Suzanne

  • 3.  good cases about digital leadership?

    Hi OB-Listserve Members.

Thanks to those of you who responded to the request I sent around a few months ago on cases or exercises related to leadership in a digital age.

I didn't receive many responses, but there were three people who generously responded. Their recommendations are below.

    1.       Harvard Case on Fresh to Table by Mukunda and Holtom (917541-PDF-ENG)

The case covers how to manage social media use by employees in an age when it can sometimes become misused.

    2.       Harvard Case: Google's Project Oxygen: Do managers matter? By Garvin, Wagenfeld, and Kind

The case looks at how google used analytics in developing management talent.

    3.       Here is a link to a video that prof. Suzanne Janasz produced on leading in a digital age:  http://imd.kuluvalley.com/view/10Ra4MIgo5N

Thanks again to those who responded! And hope others find this helpful.

    Best, Jennifer
