AOM ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM
August 4-5, 2017
The 2017 OB Doctoral Consortium will be held August 4 and 5 as part of the pre-conference program at the Academy of Management meetings in Atlanta. The consortium is open to advanced OB doctoral students in the final stages of their programs who will be applying for faculty positions in 2017 to begin in 2018.
The consortium begins on Friday at 4:00 pm and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Participants are expected to attend all of the consortium sessions both days. The program includes an interesting and energetic mix of presentations, discussions, and interactive sessions designed to launch doctoral students into their academic careers. Faculty presentations and roundtable sessions include topics such as crafting the right academic job, succeeding at research and publishing, preparing for effective teaching, plus plenty of time to network with peers and panelists.
In the past few years, we have received more applications that we can accommodate. To keep the faculty-participant ratio to an optimal size, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Be nominated by the program/department. Only one application per program will be accepted.
2. Endorsed by the students' academic advisor.
3. Preference is given to those who have made the most progress toward completing their Ph.D., but have not yet earned their degree (if you have already completed your Ph.D. degree, new faculty are encouraged to attend the Junior Faculty Consortium).
If you do not meet these criteria, consider one of the many other options available to you: the Academy-sponsored New Doctoral Student Consortium, the OB Division-sponsored "Halfway There" Doctoral Consortium, PDWs "New to OB" and "OB Research Networking Forum", as well as consortia offered by other divisions.
Complete your nomination by following this link and providing the requested information. The deadline for receipt of nominations and supporting materials is Friday, March 17, 2017, 5 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST).
