CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR SPECIAL ISSUES
Journal of Organizational Behavior
The Journal of Organizational Behavior (JOB, http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10.1002/%28ISSN%291099-1379) is soliciting proposals from scholars interested in serving as Guest Editors for Special Issues of the journal to be published in 2020. Guest Editors' responsibilities include identifying an appropriate special issue theme, and then securing and reviewing papers appropriate for the theme, including recruitment of appropriately qualified reviewers (three per paper, including at least one JOB Editorial Board member). JOB Special Issues typically comprise between six to eight papers. JOB will assist with administration of the Special Issue, including arranging for submission via the journal's Manuscript Central web site. Guest Editors are expected to maintain all due diligence, and to have some editorial experience.
Proposals should include:
· Guest Editors' contact information, including phone, e-mail and postal addresses.
· Qualifications of Guest Editors, including previous editorial experience.
· A 500 to 1000-word overview of proposed theme.
· Plans for publicizing the special issue, and for recruiting an appropriately qualified reviewing team.
· A timeline, beginning with an initial Call for Papers (assume the first call will appear on the JOB website later in 2017), and allowing for initial submission, revise and resubmit processing; and concluding with final papers being completed at least three months prior to the publication date (typically around 24+ months).
· A draft Call for Papers (up to 1000 words). Please see the JOB website for examples of current calls.
Previous special issue topics include: "Commitment in organizational contexts" (37:4), "Contextualizing creativity and innovation across cultures" (36:7), "Organizational behavior in China" (36:5), "Collaboration in multicultural environments" (34:6), and "Greening organizational behavior" (34: 2), among others.
Forthcoming topics include: "Micro-foundations of organizational behavior and sustainability," "Dynamic research in organizational behavior," "Consequences of proactive behaviors," "Teamwork in extreme environments," "Attribution theory," and "Understanding knowledge hiding in organizations."
Proposals will be evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the Associate Editors. Please direct all questions to the JOB Editor-in-Chief Suzanne S. Masterson at suzanne.masterson@uc.edu.
Special issue proposals should be submitted to Managing Editor Iris Poésse at JOBedoffice@wiley.com by April 10, 2017.
