The San Francisco State University Department of Management in the College of Business invites applicants for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Management (Organizational Behavior) beginning August 2017.
The department seeks individuals with a strong background in teaching and scholarly research in the area of Organizational Behavior or a closely related field.
The Department of Management is home to several faculty actively engaged in scholarly research in the areas of organization design, group dynamics, leadership, mergers and acquisitions, creativity and innovation, human resources, entrepreneurship, business sustainability, corporate governance, and strategic management. It offers MBA Emphases in Leadership, Nonprofits and Social Enterprise, and Ethics and Compliance, as well as a Concentration in Sustainable Business.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a field directly related to Management/Organizational Behavior from an AACSB accredited school (degree must be completed and awarded prior to appointment date).
Candidates must be able and qualified to teach classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels in areas such as Management Skills, Leadership and Influence, and Organization Design and Change. Candidates must have an active record of scholarship related to their specialty area. Excellence in both teaching and scholarship must be demonstrated.
Candidates are preferred who have teaching and/or research experience with a large, diverse student body, and who have experience in multicultural settings. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a collaborative and collegial environment.
Responsibilities: The position requires graduate and undergraduate teaching in Organizational Behavior, with secondary assignments in related topics, mentoring and advising graduate and undergraduate students, maintaining an active ongoing scholarship program in one's area of specialty, and active ongoing engagement in committee and other service assignments.
Rank and salary: Assistant Professor (tenure-track). Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. The CSU provides generous health, retirement and other benefits.
