I'm designing a new Interpersonal skills course for part-time MBA students, and was hoping for textbook recommendations and any syllabi members would be willing to share.

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi Liz.

Apologies for the self-serving nature of the response, but my co-authored text, Interpersonal Skills in Organizations' contains 19 chapters from which you can build a custom text (McGraw Hill). The approach is balanced (theory and applications) and regularly updated, there is a comprehensive IM which also includes videos, PPT and other supplements, and each chapter contains numerous exercises that have been used successfully with diverse audiences. I'm happy to mail you a syllabus in a few days when I return from vacation. In the interim, have a look:  http://highered.mheducation.com/sites/007811280x/information_center_view0/index.html

    Liz,

I have been using Paula Caproni's textbook (Developing Management Skills for Everyday Life) for several years and strongly recommend it. I have been teaching this course at undergraduate level, but it is designed based on Paula's MBA level syllabus. I have attached my course outline that has a lot of overlap with Paula's; students really love the Professional Development Plan which Paula shared with me. The textbook offers a very good instructor's manual which includes various resources for each sessions. If you decided to choose this book, I would be happy to share my material (videos, activities, etc.).

    Best,
    Serena

    Elizabeth,
I have used Whetten and Cameron text for a graduate management skills development course and found it very good.
