    Dear Colleagues,
     
    The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has just received approval to conduct a search to fill a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Human Resource Management and Employment Relations, in the School of Labor & Employment Relations (LER).
     
    For this new micro OB/HR search, we are looking for applicants with backgrounds related to micro- or meso-level OB, HR, and/or IO psychology topics (broadly defined). The job ad is pasted below. Please note that the deadline to submit application materials is in September (next month), although recommendation letters will not be required until later.

    ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

    SHORT DESCRIPTION SUMMARIZING POSITION FUNCTIONS
     
    The School of Labor and Employment Relations has a vacant faculty position in Human Resource Management or Employment Relations. We are interested in candidates who have teaching and research interests in micro and/or meso topics in organizational behavior/human resource management/industrial-organizational psychology. This is a full-time tenure-track position that combines research with teaching in the School's master's and PhD programs in human resources and employment relations. The School is an academic unit that concentrates on research and teaching in the HR-ER fields. For more information, please see our website at http://www.ler.illinois.edu/.
     
    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Conduct original, high quality scholarly research for publication in leading academic journals
    • Teach in the School's master's and PhD programs
    • Participate on School-wide service committees
     
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Applicants must have a Ph.D. in an appropriate social science discipline or professional area of study (e.g., JD); however, ABDs who demonstrate a strong potential for conducting exemplary research and teaching and anticipate Ph.D. completion no later than August 2017 will be considered.
     
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Advanced Degree (PhD)
     
    SALARY: Salary will be commensurate with experience and rank
     
    APPOINTMENT STATUS: Regular, 100% time, tenure-track faculty appointment (assistant professor)
     
    PROPOSED STARTING DATE: Proposed starting date is August 16, 2017
