    dear all,

i am in the process of immigrating to the US to live close to our grandkids. although i did not have a full time academic career, i thought i could try for a part time teaching job with my phd in ob. i was lucky to receive an offer to prepare an mba course syllabus in "food innovation", due to my agricultural management background. the attractiveness of the syllabus will influence my chances of teaching the course.

i know "food innovation" is not directly related to our field, however i thought i could ask for some help on syllabi and literature in "innovation and creativity" (any textbooks may be? or may be it is covered in entrepreneurship text books?) for teaching mbas innovation in general terms (that might apply to any specific sector), as part of the course. i would also appreciate any case study references on facilitating learning about "innovation (and may be creativity)".

i will be happy to compile and post the info i receive.

    thanks and best regards.

    Dear Deniz,

Sounds like a great plan! Perhaps you can make use of some work from Silviya Svejenova, who is studying molecular gastronomy and has among other things great case study about Ferran Adria. I am using in in a more general innovation management course (coupled with some excerpts from a matching movie) with great reactions from students. Hope this helps.

    Best wishes,
    Miha

    Deniz:

I am preparing a similar course as well but don't have a syllabus yet. You might want to look at Harvard Business Essential: Managing Creativity and Innovation. There are also many HBR articles and cases (e.g., 3M and Ideo) on creativity and innvation. Would be interested in knowing what you find out.

Here is an Outside Magazine article that can be used as a good case study on the topic.
