  • 1.  Text Analysis Software with Focus on Emotions

    Posted 06-01-2016 16:32
    Dear colleagues,

I need to analyze text for emotional expressions, particularly regret and shame. I am currently using LIWC, but it does not capture shame and regret. If you are familiar with a software package that would be suitable for analyzing expressions of shame and regret, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Serena

    Serena,

Other options include DICTION 5 and  CAT Scanner, which are described in the following article (available at http://www.hermanaguinis.com/pubs.html):

    ·       McKenny, A. F., Aguinis, H., Short, J. C., & Anglin, A. H. in press. What doesn't get measured does exist: Improving the accuracy of computer-aided text analysis. Journal of Management.

    I hope this helps!

    All the best,

    --Herman.
