  • 1.  Leadership training for academic administrators

    OB members:

I am interested in learning if your academic institution provides any type of leadership training (or management training) for academic administrators such as department heads and associate deans, and if so, whether this occurs at the college level or university level.

I would like to learn about whatever type or form the training might take:  required formal training, formal mentorships, ongoing workshops or sessions for those currently in an administrator role, informal activity, optional, required etc.

If your university provides any type of training, please reply privately to:  tdomagalski@wcu.edu

    Thank you!

At our system level, we have this fairly comprehensive program. Last I heard, it's not open to just anyone but participants have to be nominated and approved. We have very little or none at the campus level.
