Dear Colleagues (with apologies for any cross-postings),
Are you or your students doing research on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), or have you been thinking about how topic areas within IO/OB/HR might be applied to the study of CSR?
SIOP (along with Purdue University) has received a National Science Foundation grant to hold a 1.5 day summit focused on further developing the "micro" side of CSR scholarship, and better connecting it not only to CSR research being carried out at other levels of analysis, but also other substantive topic areas within our field (e.g., diversity, motivation, leadership, ethics, justice, citizenship, recruitment/retention/turnover, etc.). The summit will consist of networking opportunities, keynotes from top scholars, research updates and summaries, practice highlights, multidisciplinary commentary, group discussion, and time for break-out work focused on identifying gaps and planning for new collaborative research.
The summit will take place at the Hilton Anaheim, right before the start of the SIOP conference, from 1:00pm April 12 to 6:00pm April 13. There is no registration fee and attendees' meals and hotel stay will be provided. Space is limited, so those interested are encouraged to go to the summit website at
www.siop.org/csr and follow the instructions for requesting a spot.
We would very much appreciate you forwarding this to your students and faculty, especially those with interests in CSR and humanitarian work psychology/prosocial psychology issues.
Many thanks,
Deborah
