You will find here attached the call for papers of the EURAM track "Beyond rationalism, rationality and rationalization: critical, clinical and psychodynamic approaches to organizational life" belonging to the Strategic Interest Group "Business and Society".
Put shortly, our invitations to submit deals with the fact that "rationality" is such a polysemic word that we can wonder whether it is a steady concept. Power, social and affective involvements, body experiences are but a few phenomena that question this notion. Even the ego can hardly be considered as rational. Based on critical, clinical, psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approaches, we wish to question the different meanings of the term, and both the harmful effects of the primacy of rationalization and its reality in actual organizational life. This topic considers the effects of moving away from rationality, whether these are harmful or in contrast produce original, productive practices and ideas.
The track will be held during the EURAM Conference in Paris, between the 1st and 4 th June 2014 .
Please feel free and encouraged to send this message on to other colleagues who may be interested, thank you.
Best wishes,
The team of track convenors,
