Open Rank Position in HR/OB at University at Albany
The Department of Management in the School of Business, Universityat Albany-State University of New York, in Albany, New York (http://www.albany.edu/business/school-of-business-departments-management.php) invites applications for a full-time,tenure-track appointment in Human Resource Management/Organizational Behavior. The rank of the position is open, but it is expected that the successful candidate will be an advanced Assistant Professor. The position will commence Fall, 2016.
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. from a US accredited institution in Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior, or a closely related field. Candidates should present a record of outstanding scholarly research achievement, evidenceof high-quality teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and collegial collaboration. Candidates should have experience teaching classes in HRM or OB, but our primary need is in HRM.
The department is known as the global leader in Human ResourceInformation Systems research and education. Graduate students in the unique HRIS MBA program study the key functional areas of HRM as well as learn skills in designing and utilizing information systems in the HRM context. Students are given hands-on experience in HRIS by participating in consulting projects withlocal businesses and major corporations. Graduates of the HRIS program arehighly sought by industry. The successful candidate will teach within this program. The department is also the academic home of three major academic journals: The Journal of Technology Transfer, Academy of Management Perspectives, and the Journal of Management Studies.
The University at Albany is a Carnegie 1 research university with over 17,000 graduate and undergraduate students and is one of four university research centers in the SUNY system. The University is located in the state capital and is three hours from New York City, Boston, and Montreal. The School of Business is housed in a beautiful new building central to the UAlbany campus. Close by are the Berkshires, the Catskills, Saratoga, andthe Adirondack Mountains, areas famed for recreational and cultural opportunities. The capital district area is a center for culture and entertainment and outdoor recreation.
