CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR SPECIAL ISSUES

The Journal of Organizational Behavior (JOB, http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10.1002/%28ISSN%291099-1379 is soliciting proposals from scholars interested in serving as Guest Editors for Special Issues of the journal to be published in 2018.  Guest Editors' responsibilities include identifying an appropriate special issue theme, and then securing and reviewing papers appropriate for the theme, including recruitment of appropriately qualified reviewers (three per paper, including at least one JOB Editorial Board member). JOB Special Issues typically comprise between five to seven papers. Proposals should include:

    ·       Guest Editors' contact information, including phone, e-mail and postal addresses.

    ·       Qualifications of Guest Editors, including previous editorial experience.

    ·       A 500 to 1000-word overview of proposed theme.

    ·       Plans for publicizing the special issue, and for recruiting an appropriately qualified reviewing team.

    ·       A timeline, beginning with an initial Call for Papers (assume the first call will appear on the JOB website early in 2016), and allowing for initial submission, revise and resubmit processing; and concluding with final papers being completed at least three months prior to the publication date (typically around 24 months).

    ·       A draft Call for Papers (up to 1000 words). Please see the JOB website for examples of current calls.

Previous special issue topics include: "Organizational behavior in China" (36:5), "Collaboration in multicultural environments" (34:6), "Greening organizational behavior" (34: 2), "Coping with economic stress" (33:6), and "The changing ecology of teams: New forms, new work, new leadership – not your grandfather's work team" (33:2).

Forthcoming topics include: "Contextualizing creativity and innovation across cultures," "Commitment in organizational contexts," "Can neurons manage?", "Humanitarian organizational behavior," and "Micro-foundations of organizational behavior and sustainability."

Proposals will be evaluated by the Editor in Chief in consultation with the Associate Editors. Please direct all questions to the JOB Editor-in-Chief Suzanne S. Masterson at suzanne.masterson@uc.edu.

Special issue proposals should be submitted to Managing Editor Iris Poésse at JOBedoffice@wiley.com by September 15, 2015.
