The Second Annual NWBC Workplace Bullying Awareness Conference, Hosted by the NWBC and the Grove College of Business of Shippensburg University
THEME: RESTORING AND PROTECTING DIGNITY AT WORK: Addressing Discrimination, Harassment, and Bullying in the Workplace
Location: Shippensburg University Foundation Center, Shippensburg, PA
October 22-23, 2015
Deadline for proposals: May 30, 2015
The NWBC invites proposals for paper presentations, conference proceedings papers, posters, forums, roundtables and other sessions/forums. Proposals should focus on restoring and/or protecting dignity at work. We are particularly interested in proposals that deal with workplace bullying and how this issue overlaps with other areas that deal with dignity in the workplace including working conditions, living wage issues, health and safety issues, mental health, discrimination and others. However, we are also interested in labor responses to workplace bullying, best practices in solving workplace bullying and experiences with workplace bullying. The goal of this conference it to engage in cross disciplinary discussions amongst academics, mental health practitioners, human resource management professionals, labor leaders, employee advocates, targets of workplace bullying and others interested in exploring the world of work. Proposals of any length and format are welcome. Proposal formats may include a paper abstract, a PowerPoint presentation, a full paper, or a description of a roundtable or forum, or a description of your presentation including proposed learning outcomes.
Please include a proposed length of time of your presentation and any requirements for AV equipment or material. Also include as part of your proposal if you would be willing to serve as a session chair. Selected participants will be asked to submit their full presentation or paper by July 30, 2015 for inclusion in our conference proceedings. Submissions and inquiries can be sent to jacarbo@ship.edu
All presenters will be required to register for the conference. Presenters will also have the option of having their presentations or papers included in our electronic proceedings.
