    I am looking for (free) self-assessment instruments that have good psychometric properties, and are shown by research to be related to organizational outcomes.

    If you have any recommendations in the following areas, please let me know.

    Needs (anything related to motivation content)

    Goal-setting (as an individual difference variable)

    Intrinsic versus extrinsic motivation

    Ability to work in a team

    Ability to manage conflict

    Leadership style

    Thanks in advance. I'll be happy to share what I get.

    Hannah,

    Have you heard of/had any experience with the Achieving Styles Inventory, developed by Dr. Jean LIpman-Blumen (Claremont Graduate University and the Connective Leadership Institute)?

    There are number of assessments that serve various purposes. We have been using the ASI (and its other related inventories) with our graduate program in Leadership for the past year or so and have found it to be very valuable.

    Faculty can go through a certification process (detailed on the website listed above) and administer the inventories. We have three certified associates on our faculty and have found it to provide great insights.

    I'm happy to continue the discussion if this sounds like something from which you and your students might benefit. Oh, I should also mention that the inventories are extremely valid.

    Dear Hannah:

    Have you check in with the Center of Creative Leadership (CCL) or International Leadership Association?

    CCL = http://www.ccl.org/Leadership/index.aspx
    ILA = http://ila-net.org/  (you may want to send a notice through this source).
