    Dear all,

I am interested in finding validated scales to measure individual differences in need for autonomy - that is, need strength, not need satisfaction. At first glance, there do not seem to be too many of those out there. I am currently looking at scales like Jackson's (1987) 16-item scale or the 7-item scale used by Landeweerd & Boumans (1994). But I may be missing some interesting other options, or maybe even obvious ones... any suggestions?

    Kind regards,
    Eric R.

    Hi Eric,

Two free resources that you might consider:

    1. http://www.inn.colorado.edu (a search engine of measures)

    2. http://www.frankbosco.com/data/Ver2-08_MasterDB_JAP-PPsych_1980-2010.xlsx
(all correlations reported in JAP or PPsych from 1980-2010). I searched for the TaxonomyID column for "10850" and "10841", but you may also search the actual text reported in the original article (column F).

Based on taxonomic classification, the following articles appear to report your construct of interest (journal-volume-issue-start_page).
    JAP-92-4-1084
    JAP-91-4-802
    JAP-89-5-822
    JAP-94-3-654
    JAP-72-4-615
    JAP-66-5-544

    Best,

    Frank
