    Hi all,

I am slated to present a 1 hour seminar on Ethical Decision Making to a group of college students (range of freshmen to seniors) participating in a student leadership development program next month, and I am looking for engaging (and relevant) exercises to supplement my presentation. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Best regards,

    Allen

    Hi Allen,

I would suggest  you to look at this classic  HBR case- 'The parable of a Sadhu', instead of going for any exercise.

Charles, If you can have them do any pre-work, or even take the time in class to show the movie, "Miss Evers' Boys," I've had great success with demonstrating the slippery slope of how someone who is honest and has lots of integrity can fall into unethical behavior not even realizing it's happening. It's an eye opener for students to realize how easily it can happen.

The movie is about the Tuskegee Medical Experiments, and a nurse that is brought into the experiments because she has influence over the residents of the rural area who rarely trust outsiders. She agrees to help because there is a benefit to the people, but she gets wrapped up in the completion of the experiment versus actually helping by the end.

    Hi Allen

You may wish to refer the case "Donna Bookout-Coe" from the Stanford case portfolio. The first vignette of this case deals with ethical decision making.
