  • 1.  Seeking help with estimates for meta-analysis

    Hello colleagues,
I am currently working on a path analytic meta-analysis in which we are seeking help finding a few relationships for the correlation matrix. Specifically, I am having trouble finding meta-analytic estimates for the relationship between a) motivation (e.g. expectancy, goal-setting, state self-efficacy) and job satisfaction, and b) meta-analyses reporting job/task complexity as a central variable in a correlation matrix, rather being presented only as a moderator analysis for some other relationship of interest.

Any help in sourcing these relationships (again, state motivation-job satisfaction and job complexity-work outcomes) would be greatly appreciated!

    Best,
    Alex

    Alex,

Hopefully, you will be able to find those estimates. But, if you don't, the following article (available at http://mypage.iu.edu/~haguinis/pubs.html) offer suggestions on how to address missing cells in the meta-analytically derived correlation matrix:

    ·       Bergh, D. D., Aguinis, H., Heavey, C. Ketchen, D. J., Boyd, B. K., Su, P., Lau, C., & Joo, H. in press. Using meta-analytic structural equation modeling to advance strategic management research: Guidelines and an empirical illustration via the strategic leadership-performance relationship. Strategic Management Journal. doi: 10.1002/smj.2338

    I hope this helps!

    All the best,

    --Herman.

    Hi Alex,

For the job complexity meta-analyses, take a look at:
