The OB Division is looking for volunteers to serve in the following capacities:
OB DIVISION WEBMASTER
The ideal candidate for this position will be a graduate student or professor with significant work or personal experience in website development and maintenance, particularly within the Joomla! environment. The OB Division webmaster is responsible for the overall OBWeb site; specific duties include developing and/or posting new content as needed, working with AOM technical staff to resolve website-related issues, and updating division-related information (e.g., committees, award winners, meeting minutes, photos, podcasts) on an ongoing basis. This position is part of the OB Division "Technology and Media Team," and will be asked to support (as appropriate) the team in all technology-related activities related to the OB Division. Time requirements for the position will vary throughout the year - on average, the position should require approximately 10 hours per month.
This is an ad hoc position within the OB Division, and tenure for the position is open-ended. Ideally, we would ask for a minimum of a two year commitment, with the opportunity to continue in the role indefinitely, as time/interest allows. For more information, please contact Steve Charlier (Technology and Media Team Leader) via email at scharlier@georgiasouthern.edu . Nominations for the position should consist of a cover letter that briefly describes your interest in the position and related prior experience in website development/maintenance. A CV may also be sent with your application, but is not required. Nominations should be submitted by December 1, 2014 with the view that the volunteer webmaster will be in place by the end of the calendar year.
OB DIVISION TREASURER
The ideal candidate for this job will be a late assistant to full professor in OB with an accounting or finance background, good at managing details on a timely basis as well as working with a wide variety of academic and staff within the Academy of Management and the OB Executive Committee. The last two office holders were CPAs and had worked in these fields in "a previous life." We would like the candidate to serve for a three year term commencing in January 2015.
The position includes the following responsibilities: Expense payments and tracking, collection of revenues, financial statement preparation, coordination with the accountant and controller of AoM, advising the Executive Committee on financial matters and fulfilling various functions related to the Annual Meeting (in addition to attending the Treasurer's meeting). In addition to these responsibilities, new duties may be added as the position evolves.
For more information or to nominate for the position, please contact Jackie Coyle-Shapiro via email at j.a.coyle-shapiro@lse.ac.uk . Nominations should consist of a cover letter that briefly describes your interest in the position and related prior experience with a CV. Nominations should be submitted by December 1, 2014 with the view that the treasurer will be in place by the end of the calendar year.
