    Hi Josephine,

Although not aimed at courage per se, my colleagues and I recently evaluated the relative importance of more than 2 dozen different individual difference measures for determining employees' moral character. Details about each of the measures are contained in the supplementary online materials and on my website for the project. www.WECTProject.org

Josephine, the below references may be of use. The moral potency measure (of which moral courage is one of three components, along with moral efficacy and moral ownership – see AMR piece below) is available for free for research from www.mindgarden.com.  The measure was published in the JAP, AMJ, and CPJ articles below.  You may also want to look at the measure by Sekerka et al. published in Journal of Business Ethics issue 89 (2009).

    Dear Josephine,

As far as measures, I know of these two:

Professional Moral Courage Scale (15-items):  Sekerka, Bagozzi, and Charnigo, 2009

Moral Potency Questionnaire:  Hannah and Avolio, 2010 - Moral courage is a sub dimension of moral potency.  It's available through MindGarden (link below):

    Helpful Articles:

Jennings, P. L., Mitchell, M. S., & Hannah, S. T. (2014). The moral self: A review and integration of the literature. Journal of Organizational Behavior.
