    Assistant/Associate Professor in Human Resource Management

     

    The Management Department at Appalachian State University invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate beginning Fall, 2015.

     

    The Department of Management is housed in the Walker College of Business, an AACSB-accredited business school with enrollment of more than 2,300 students. The college was included in Princeton Review's 2014 edition of Best Business Schools. The Department of Management offers undergraduate degree programs with majors in Management and Hospitality &Tourism Management; minors in Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, and Sustainable Business; and a Masters program in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and Human Resource Management.

    A Ph.D. in Human Resource Management or a closely related field is required. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements by the effective date of the appointment. Instructional duties will include three classes per semester and faculty members are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship as well as participate in service activities.

     

    Candidates must have potential to be excellent teachers dedicated to student learning, active researchers publishing in refereed journals, and participating members of the university, professional, and local communities. Candidates for Associate Professor must have an established record of excellence in teaching as well as scholarly activity.
