If you're a mid-career OB professor (i.e., an advanced assistant, tenured associate, or new full professor), would like to gain insights regarding promotion to full professor, would you like to learn how to keep your career exciting after becoming a full professor, or all of the above, please plan to attend the 2014 "From Associate to Full...and Beyond" PDW. In this workshop, you'll hear from leading senior faculty who will share their perspectives and insights regarding how to best progress from associate professor to full professor and beyond. The topics they will discuss will include, but not be limited to:
- the associate vs. full promotion process
- the expectations at more senior ranks
- the demands and challenges (along with the opportunities) that are unique to the role of full professor
- how to keep one's career interesting after becoming a full professor
This year's panelists will include Jeff Edwards (University of North Carolina), Karen Jehn* (University of Melbourne), Kevin Lowe (University of North Carolina-Greensboro), Katherine Phillips (Columbia University), and Ian Williamson (University of Melbourne). Attendees will have the opportunity to hear presentations from each of the panelists along with an opportunity to talk with them one-on-one in an Open Spaces format.
* - tentatively scheduled as a panelist.
Registration is not required for this PDW. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, August 2nd, 2014 from 11:45am-1:45pm in the Philadelphia Marriot Downtown (Rms. 411 & 412).
