The Making Connections Committee and the OB, CM, and ODC divisions are excited to present the 6th Annual "Halfway There, But Now What? Advice for Pre-Dissertation Doctoral Students" PDW at the upcoming Annual AOM Meeting. The PDW will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, from 12:30 - 4:30 pm in the Grand Ballroom Salon B of the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown.

The purpose of "Halfway There" is to bridge the gap between the New Doctoral Student Consortium and the Senior Student Doctoral Consortia offered by various divisions. The middle stages of a doctoral program can be a challenging time, as students are no longer required to attend courses and are expected to begin to structure their own activities and develop a research identity. The "Halfway There" PDW will provide relevant advice to help doctoral students beginning the 3rd or 4th years of their programs establish themselves as independent scholars.  Leading scholars from the OB division will present on topics such as Launching the Dissertation Process, Developing a Stream of Research, and Understanding the Job Market. The session will also feature roundtable discussions with recently-minted PhDs who will answer questions and provide their own perspectives on the issues facing mid-stage doctoral students. A full agenda for the PDW is included below:
