    POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

     


    Assistant / Associate Professor(s) of Management (Tenure Track)


     

    Position(s):

    CSU is anticipating approval of one or more full-time, tenure-track positions as Assistant or Associate Professor of Management and is searching for active, culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber.

     

    Start Date:

    August 2016

     

    Responsibilities: 

    Teach 2-3 courses per semester (5 per year) at the undergraduate and/or graduate level at on-campus or off-campus locations; perform and publish scholarly research in the discipline; participate in department, college and university level service activities. We anticipate teaching needs in a variety of areas, but primarily are seeking candidates with a desire and ability to teach classes in multiple sub-disciplines of Human Resource Management, such as the specialty areas of Labor Relations, Staffing, Compensation and Benefits, International HR,  Strategic HR, HR Analytics, etc

     

    Qualifications:

    Minimum qualifications for Assistant Professor are earned PhD/DBA by July 1, 2016 or doctoral student ABD status (for appointment at Instructor level) at advanced dissertation stage* in Human Resources or a closely related field, collegiate teaching experience in HR or a closely related field, and evidence of scholarly activity. Preferred qualifications for Assistant Professor include scholarly publications and evidence of research activity (commensurate with years of experience), teaching experience in HR, evidence of effectiveness, and managerial/industry/business experience and the ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.

     

    Minimum qualifications for Associate Professor are earned doctorate in H.R. or closely related field, teaching experience in HR and evidence of effectiveness, scholarly activity and evidence of effectiveness, and managerial / industry / business experience.  The preferred qualification for Associate Professor is earned tenure at an AACSB accredited College of Business and the ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.

     

    *For ABD candidates, the position will be Instructor until the Doctorate is completed (and must be completed within the first year of employment at CSU).

    Department/College:

    The MGT department houses a Master of Labor Relations and Human Resources (MLRHR) Program, as well as an award winning student chapter of SHRM.  The MGT department employs 13 full-time faculty and offers coursework at the bachelor, master, and doctoral levels.  Our department is housed within the Monte Ahuja College of Business. The college employs nearly 50 full-time faculty members. All programs are AACSB accredited at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Enrollment exceeds 3,000 students, and the degrees we offer include: DBA, MCIS, MBA, MLRHR, MAcc, BSCIS, BBA, and a joint MBA-JD.

    Salary:

    Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
