  • 1.  Appreciative inquiry case or exercise

    Dear colleagues,

I'm teaching an undergraduate class on change management, and I would like to find a case or an experiential exercise that showcases the appreciative inquiry approach to leading change. Any recommendations will be highly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hello, Yongmei!

You might want to check on the Appreciative Inquiry Commons, as there are quite a few cases out there.  See http://appreciativeinquiry.case.edu/.

Alternatively, you could write to the Appreciative Inquiry list serve and ask there.  Here's that address:  ailist@lists.business.utah.edu

Good luck finding something appropriate for your work!

    Yongmei,

    See the following:

Conklin, T. A. (2009). Creating classrooms of preference: An exercise in appreciative inquiry. Journal of Management Education, 33, 772-792.

I did an adapted version on the first day of my course (Consultation and Facilitation Skills) and it worked very well.

(If you can share your final list of resources with the list, that would be much appreciated. Thanks!)
