    POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR AT U.S. MILITARY ACADEMY AT WEST POINT

     

    DESCRIPTION: The United States Military Academy has a mission and organization that is unique among colleges and universities in the United States. For more than 200 years, the West Point experience has been designed to prepare cadets as commissioned officers in the United States Army. West Point is a highly selective undergraduate college that provides a robust academic program in which cadets take 30 core courses and complete one of 45 different majors. Class size is small, with 18 or fewer cadets per class. 

     

    REQUIREMENTS: As an Assistant Professor, you will teach undergraduate management courses in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership at the United States Military Academy. The department is an interdisciplinary program that offers majors in Psychology, Engineering Psychology, Management, Leadership, and Sociology. You will design, teach and administer undergraduate management courses, and mentor students' academic and extracurricular development. You will support the personal growth and development of cadets in and out of the classroom, as a role model for future leaders of the Nation. This is a full-time, three-year, renewable term appointment with employment to start in June 2014. Competitive salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience at the Academic Rank of Assistant Professor.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS: 1) education that includes a doctorate in Management (a focus on the fields of organizational behavior, human resource management, or strategy is preferred); 2) ability to teach undergraduate courses in our Management program, with primary emphasis on organizational change, human resource management, strategic management, and introductory management courses (college teaching experience and MBA preferred).
