The Columbia Business School, Management Division is seeking to hire a qualified Postdoctoral Research Scientist/Scholar for a period of two years for the Provost's Postdoctoral Award. The Postdoctoral Research Scientist/Scholar will collaborate on research projects of mutual interest with faculty in the Management Division at Columbia Business School. The position requires someone with a strong background in psychological, behavioral, experimental, or archival research methods who seeks exposure to the mix of basic and applied research and the teaching style in professional schools.
Applicants must be a U.S Citizen or permanent resident who will have received a PhD degree before the start of this position (or will do so in advance of summer 2014) in relevant social science fields, including psychology, sociology, experimental economics, organizational behavior, organizational theory, or behavioral strategy from an accredited institution and a record of being an outstanding scholar in every respect, including research. Applicants should submit a cover letter describing their research interests and accomplishments, C.V., writing sample and three letters of recommendation no later than March 10, 2014. Provost's Postdoctoral Research Scientist/Scholars are entitled to post-doc housing for two years, pending timely completion of an acceptable housing application. Provost's Postdoctoral Research Scientist/Scholars are responsible for their housing expenses.
The goal of Columbia University Provost's Postdoctoral Research Scientist/Scholar program is to enhance the recruitment of outstanding postdoctoral scholars from underrepresented groups to more closely reflect composition of the national pool of qualified candidates. The program strongly encourages applications from promising scholars from historically underrepresented groups, including but not limited to: Blacks/African-Americans; Hispanics; Native Americans/Alaska Natives; persons having origins in any of the original peoples of Hawaii, Guam, or Samoa.
Applicants must have received their terminal degree from an institution other than Columbia. Current Columbia University postdoctoral scientists/scholars are not eligible for this program.
