Dear Victor, in our article (LQ, 2001) Patrick Schultz and I touch on evolutionary psychology when we discuss leadership stories as meme phenotypes.

    Dear Victor,

The Journal of Organizational Behavior had a special issue in 2006 on the application of Darwinian ideas to the workplace. Yuval Deutsch and I published a paper in that issue, which  adopts a psychological evolutionary perspective that offers a new way of interpreting costly citizenship behaviors.

    Dear Victor and fellow OB'ers,

There are a number of us working to expand boundaries by incorporating evolutionary biology, evolutionary psychology, etc...

You can have a look at a book chapter I wrote with Nigel Nicholson and Mark van Vugt

    http://www.econbiz.de/Record/leadership-in-organizations-an-evolutionary-perspective-spisak-brian/10009314472

The chapter appeared in the textbook, "Evolutionary Psychology in the Business Sciences", edited by Gad Saadhttp://www.amazon.com/Evolutionary-Psychology-Business-Sciences-Saad/dp/3540927832

You can also read the work of those mentioned above, i.e., Nigel Nicholson, Mark van Vugt, and Gad Saad. Likewise, regarding the biology of business, have a look at some of the work coming out of the Department of Management and Organization at the National University of Singapore: http://www.economist.com/node/17090697

The Leadership Quarterly had a special issue on the biology of leadership: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/journal/10489843/23/2

There is an interesting paper by Pierce and White in AMR:

    http://amr.aom.org/content/24/4/843.short

The Applied Evolutionary Psychology Society is also working to raise awareness: http://www.aepsociety.org/business-industry-and-organizations.html

There is more, but this should be a good start.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance and all the best,

    Brian

    Dear Victor

I see you have already been alerted to the EP special issue that Rod White and I put together.  I've just published a book with an evolutionary take on leadership (The 'I' of Leadership: Strategies for seeing, being and doing Jossey-Bass) as well as lots of other stuff including an  HBR and a book in 2000 (Managing the Human Animal in the US Executive Instinct).   There's been a bunch or recent handbooks as well.  Check out S.C. Roberts (Ed.) 2012 , Applied Evolutionary Psychology  Oxford: OUP; and about to be published in 2014  S.M. Colarelli, & R.A. Arvey, R. A. Handbook of the Biological Foundations of Organizational Behavior. Chicago: University of Chicago Press.

If you want more please write to me and I'll try to help.

The work of Nigel Nicholson is very relevant.

in 1998 Management and Decision Economics had a special issue on Evolutionary Psychology. It included:

Evans, M. G., & Chang, Y. C. (1998). Cheater detection and altruistic behaviour: An experimental and methodological exploration. Management and Decision Economics, 19, 467-480.

For anthropology, I'd suggest the classics by Donald Roy, and by Alvin Gouldner, and by Michel Crozier.
